Exhibit Details
Sometimes known as Shooting Sports, this department affords Scouts the opportunity to learn maintenance, safety, and operational aspects of their firearm, bow or rod while having a great time on the range or in the river.
Rifle Shooting merit badge is a popular attraction for Scouts and this display highlights the changes the range has undertaken over the years and some of the staffers who ran the range.

Jacob Latch Rifle Range

As part of the CCC Gala in 2021, the Rifle Range name was auctioned off, and Jacob Latch was chosen as he was the 4th great grandfather of the auction winner, Andrew Coe, and because he was Gen. George Washington’s messenger at Valley Forge in the Winter of 1777.
