November 21, 1944

Octoraro 22 Starts Fundraising for Building

At the November 21, 1944 Lodge Executive Committee meeting, fundraising began for the Octoraro Memorial Lodge Building. A small fund was collected during the meeting.

1952

Ground-Breaking for Octoraro Memorial Lodge

After almost a decade of fundraising, ground is finally broken on the Octoraro Memorial Lodge building.

June 20, 1959

Octoraro Memorial Lodge Building Dedicated

The OA Lodge Building Dedication was conducted on June 20, 1959 after 15 years of fundraising and construction.

1965

Octoraro Lodge Hosts Building Mortage Burning Ceremony

Six years after formally dedicating the Octoraro Memorial Lodge Building, the loan was paid back and Octoraro 22 hosted a mortgage burning ceremony at Camp Horseshoe that included a reception, dinner, the formal burning of said mortagage, and an Ordeal ceremony.

1993

Octoraro Lodge Building Roof Replaced

As part of any normal maintenance, occasionally a building’s roof needs to be repaired, and that’s what took place in 1993 for the Octoraro Memorial Lodge Building.

2009

Pavers Purchased and Installed

From 2009 – 2011, to fundraise for the lodge building renovations, pavers were sold to Arrowmen and others to be installed in the walkway leading to the lodge building. They were later removed to be installed in the lodge building patio.

September 24, 2011

Lodge Rededication Ceremony Coincides with 85th Anniversary

After more than two years of renovations and repairs on the Lodge Building, it was rededicated by various officers, advisers, and dignitaries at the 2011 September Fellowship Weekend.
