Room Details

Over the years, Horseshoe Scout Reservation has been fortunate to host special events ranging from OA Conclaves to foreign Scouts Jamborees.  This room is dedicated to those occasions.

Exhibits in this Room:
501.1 – Polish Jamboree

Horseshoe Scout Reservation hosted the Polish Scouts in Exile Jamboree in 1988. 

In 1988, the Polish Scouts in Exile Jamboree was held at Horseshoe Scout Reservation.
501.2 – Irish Jamboree

In 2000, over 200 boys and girls from County Cork, Ireland visited Camp Ware for two weeks of fun and adventure.

501.3 – Norwegian Scout Visit

In 1973, Scouts from Norway visited Camp Horseshoe. 

<strong>Heegard, Burkey</strong>, and Norwegian scouts visit on the parade field.
501.4 – Roberts Day

Roberts Day was established at Camp Horseshoe in 1934 to honor Associate Justice Owen J. Roberts.  Roberts earned the Silver Beaver Award for his leadership in raising funds for Horseshoe Scout Reservation. “Roberts Day” and the “Roberts Award” continued into the 1980s.

501.5 – Staff Reunions

This exhibit showcases some pictures from annual HSR staff reunions.

Camp Ware Headquarters basement cleaning was one of the many service projects conducted during the 2019 HSR Staff Reunion.
