Exhibit Details
This cub recruitment event began in 2013 as “Race to Scouting, Run with the Pack” and is designed to have Cubs bring a friend so they can see all the cool activities that are available in the program. It lasted in that form at Camp Ware from 2013-2015.
In 2016, 2017, and 2018, this event was called “Chester County Council Cub Camporee”, or C5, and was hosted at Paradise Farms in Downingtown. In 2019, the event was part of the 100th Anniversary Chester County Council Camporee in Hibernia Park.
The event took a hiatus from 2020-2022, but returned to Camp Ware in 2023 as “Ware Goes West” and in 2024 as “Ware Gets Medieval”.
The inaugural event for 2013 was held at Camp Ware on October 5th, 2013. About 80 participants came to enjoy BB Guns, Archery, Paintball Slingshot, Leatherworking, Bird House Building, a K9 demonstration, Bottle Rockets, Human Foosball, Ultimate Frisbee and a special visit from Smokey Bear!
Participants arrive for the first annual “Race to Scouting, Run with the Pack” event.
